Lynxemi, the Singapore-headquartered provider of customized IoT products, has selected Quectel’s EG800Q LTE Cat 1 bis module for use in its new LTE asset tracker. The tracker, which offers a guaranteed five-year battery life, contains both temperature and location sensors. It operates in the -20°C to +70°C temperature range and supports all major international frequency bands and is available in Asia and Europe. Key features include and ABS IP67 case, working humidity of 10-90% and dimensions of 80mm x 50mm x 30mm.

The Quectel EG800Q is a series of LTE Cat 1 bis modules optimized specially for IoT applications. Adopting the 3GPP Rel-14 LTE technology and supporting Cat 1 bis, the modules deliver maximum data rates of up to 10Mbps downlink and 5Mbps uplink. Measuring 15.8mm x 17.7mm x 2.4mm, the EG800Q series operates in an extended data range of -40°C to +85°C, making it ideal for tracking applications as well as commercial telematics, payment systems, remotely managed access control (RMAC), smart safety and automation and smart metering and smart grid use cases.

With end users becoming increasingly familiar with IoT capabilities, greater demands are being placed on device providers, so being able to support demands for richer data is a key attribute of the Lynxemi device. The LTE asset tracker provides location data within a 20m radius and also features email notification of all alerts and a battery low power indicator alert function. Users can also access features such as real-time asset location and temperature monitoring as well as temperature threshold and geofencing violation alerts. The asset tracker also logs historical temperature data so performance can be monitored over user-selected intervals.
