In its continual endeavor to improve its induction cooker MCU technology Holtek is now releasing their new excellent cost/performance ratio induction cooker Flash MCUs, the HT45F0005A and HT45F0035A. When compared with previous generation products, these new devices provide a richer set of functional resources, such as a hardware assisted UL certification function, hardware I²C interface to communicate with the control panel, over-current protection and valley voltage detection function etc. They also retain all the benefits of the previous generation products such as the required hardware protection circuits for voltage and current surge protection and IGBT over-voltage protection, as well as a PPG hardware frequency jittering function. This frequency jittering function can effectively reduce the IGBT reverse voltage and therefore decrease any generated electromagnetic interference (EMI) when the induction cooker is operating at higher power levels. This will reduce the costs of any required anti-electromagnetic interference components and assist with passing EMI standard testing.
The HT45F0035A device includes an integrated IGBT drive circuit which can directly drive the IGBT thus further providing the induction cooker with a means of generating a uniform and efficient heating source when the induction cooker is operating at lower power levels. The high level of functional integration reduces the number of required external components and simplifies the PCB layout.
Regarding system resources, the devices contain a 4K×16 Flash Program Memory, a 512×8 Data Memory and a 128×8 Data EEPROM. As for peripheral features, there is an I²C communication interface, a 9-bit Programmable Pulse Generator which includes an internal hardware frequency jittering function, a 12-bit A/D converter, a comparator, five groups of Over Voltage Protection functions and an operational amplifier which has an internal programmable gain. The HT45F0035A also includes a group of IGBT drive circuits with excellent application flexibility. Regarding packaging, the devices are supplied in a 20-pin SOP package type.
